In the early 1960’s, John W. Hayes was operating Atlas Septic Systems when he was approached to excavate his first swimming pool. It was an introduction to an industry that would come to change his life and that of his family forever. It did not take John long to realize that the market for swimming pools was greater, but, more importantly, building swimming pools allowed John to bring joy to families in a way he never could with septic systems.
In 1966, John had the honor of bringing his sons, Bob and Joe, into the business and officially incorporating “Quality Pools.” In those early years, they specialized in vinyl liner pools in summer and building warehouses to supplement the business during winter. But for John Hayes and his sons, their dreams were too big to stop there.
Sadly, in 1973, John passed away, but his dreams live on in Bob and Joe. Firmly rooted in the same values and principles instilled in them from their father, John’s sons have grown Quality Pools to heights that would surely make him proud. Quality Pools has evolved to include a wide array of residential and commercial pools and spas, an extensive delivery department, and a professionally trained service department with an on-site inventory of parts and chemicals fully stocked in our 1700 square foot facilities.
From its humble beginnings, Quality Pools continues to grow as the Hayes family has grown. Most recently, in 2001, Joe’s daughter and son-in-law joined the business to carry it on to the next generation. Together, the family works to propel John’s legacy of building the highest quality pools and providing the finest customer experience.
